Just when you thought Gilbert and Sullivan couldn't get any better, along comes something like this:
Space Pirates of Planet Penzance
It's Gilbert and Sullivan's original work, adapted by Donald Gaverick with Spencer Ventresca
First performed at SUNY Oswego in 2016, so this will be a 10th anniversary performance, as we head into our 50th anniversary year in 2027!
Join us for fun and frivolity as Frederick and the merry band of Pirates romp around on planet Penzance!!
Auditions will take place Tuesday Sept 8th and Wednesday Sept 9 at the Downtown United Presbyterian Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh St, 14614.
Auditions start at 6:30pm both nights. You can fill out the audition form ahead of time by clicking the "Download File" link below.
Those auditioning should prepare an excerpt from a Gilbert and Sullivan song (or a piece in a similar style). Please bring your own sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.
Readings will be provided.
It is not necessary to audition if you want to be in the chorus. To join the chorus, you can sign up at auditions, or simply attend the first rehearsal on Friday, September 11 at 6:30pm.
Rehearsals will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 6:30-9:00pm at Downtown United Presbyterian Church. Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal.
Please note - lead actors might be called in at 6pm for rehearsals

We are using the regular Schirmer Music Score for Pirates - (no music has changed for this version - some words/dialogue changes only)
